The Advanced Open Water Course is for already qualified divers wishing to explore special interests and gain more dive experience. This course requires 5 open water dives. The deep dive and open water navigation dives are mandatory leaving you to choose three remaining dives from the following:
AWARE - Fish Identification
Boat Dive
Drift Dive
Multilevel and Computer Dive
Night Dive
Peak Performance Buoyancy Dive
Underwater Naturalist Dive
Using our PADI adventures in diving manuals you are required to read over the relevant section and then complete the knowledge review at the end. You're instructor will review and go over the section with you answering any questions you may have. Now you will be briefed and ready for the dive. After the dive you will log the dive as an advanced dive in you're log book and once you have completed all 5 dives in the same manner you will be qualified as an advanced open water diver!
If you have time constraints or wish to complete only one advanced dive during your stay with us, it is possible to do an adventure dive. For example: You are an open water diver qualified to dive to 18m but want to dive a deeper reef. It is possible for you to do the dive in the same manner as someone would do the deep dive within the advanced course. This dive would be logged and signed off as an adventure dive qualifying as you're first advanced dive. Once you have completed 5 adventure dives you can then be certified as an advanced diver.
N.B.: You may not dive to a depth deeper than 18m without direct instructor supervision after completing the deep dive as an adventure dive, only once you have completed and been qualified as an advanced diver.
To participate in the PADI advanced course you are required to be qualified as a PADI Open One diver (see here) or have a certification from another training organization as proof of an entry - level scuba certification.
The advanced open water course costs R2,200.00. excl gear hire.
